Install the extension
The Hapstack browser extension collects user activity data. Before installation, make sure you've synced your Google Workspace directory.
Once installed, the extension requires no configuration. It automatically authenticates users and begins tracking activity for anyone in your Hapstack directory.
#
Force installation (recommended)
You can force install the extension for all users in your organization (or users in specific org units) via the Google admin console. Note that you must be a Google Workspace administrator.
Test extension installation (optional)
To test extension installation with a small group of users, create a separate org unit in your Google Workspace admin console (e.g. "Hapstack test users"), add test users, and only force install the extension for that org unit.
Log in to your Google Admin console
Navigate to Devices -> Chrome -> Apps & extensions in the left sidebar
Select Users & browsers
(Optional) Choose your target organizational unit (or top-level for all users)
Click the plus (⨁) button in the bottom right corner, and then Add Chrome app or extension by id
Paste
cbedkjmefkckbnnbcpnphdkhmpnchmgc
into the Extension id field and click SaveSet the Installation policy to Force install and click Save
The extension will deploy over the next few minutes. You can monitor the extension status for each user in your Hapstack directory. When the extension is installed and authenticated, the status will change from Not detected to Active .
The first time the extension is force installed across an organization, it typically takes 10-15 minutes for any historical data to be scanned.

Manual installation
Users can install the extension individually through the Chrome Web Store. Their status will update automatically in your directory once installed - no additional setup needed.
